Frequently asked questions

How much will it cost?

This is dependent on several factors, the principal ones being, time, distance, volume or size of truck needed and service level required. It need not be expensive. For part loads it will often cost more to hire a van and move it yourself than to use us.

How long does it take?

If you have already packed everything, an average four bedroomed house can be loaded in about four to five hours. If the new owners are moving in the same day it is important to vacate the house around lunchtime, so an early start may be necessary.

If you require a packing service this may need to be done the previous day.

Delivery times to France or Spain are obviously dependent on distance. For example, deliveries to Northern France can be the morning following collection, further south than Bordeaux, the day after that. Spain could take three days.

There are certain days that large lorries are not permitted to travel in Europe. In France these include Sundays, Bank holidays and the two Saturdays at the start and finish of the August holiday.

Can I take plants?

Yes, provided they are healthy and legal. Do not over water them or damage may occur to other items.

Can I do my own packing?

Yes, see tips on packing.

Will you supply packing materials?

Yes and we will include this in your quotation. Boxes are not expensive when you buy them in multiples of a thousand. It is important to use quality materials, so much so that we pass them on at cost price. It also makes loading and unloading much easier.

Can you provide storage?

Yes, either in Surrey or France

If you pack for me what do I need to do?

It is essential that you separate and identify anything that is not to be packed, including, passports, keys, documents, cable or digital boxes and clothes, medicines, food etc. needed for your journey.

Will I be able to contact the lorry carrying my goods?

Yes, you will be given the mobile number of your team leader so if you are delayed or you wish to change delivery times etc., you can speak directly without going through an office.

How can I get a quotation?

Either telephone and arrange for a move consultant to visit or e-mail a list of effects through the contact button.

What documentation do I need?

For full loads, we will provide all necessary documentation. For part loads all we require is an inventory of what you are sending, together with collection and delivery addresses.

Can you supply references?

We are so confident of our service, that, subject to client agreement, we will give you the telephone number of some one whose move is in progress. Once their move is complete they will be able to give you an unbiased opinion. This keeps us on our toes and stops us being selective.

One innovative client recommended us to three colleagues who happened to be moving in the month before he did. That was a clever way of obtaining references. Or perhaps he was just being nice, either way it was good for business.
